I love the axiom, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality gold sniffing PI. I believe it performs above its price point for sure. 

When using the 13" fc DD coil, I often do an iron check on strong signals. I pretty much dig every target regardless just to get the trash out of the area I'm working. So far this year, I've had the axiom grunt on a 30 cal lead projectile, and 2  small thin pieces of copper. It wasn't a loud aggressive grunt, but enough for me to suspect ferrous targets to pop out.  I just don't trust it, and I couldn't walk away knowing 100%. Just my experience.

Personally I do not use it, or use it as a way to convince myself to dig a target I might have otherwise passed on i.e. “reverse discrimination”.

I'll use it if I'm not in the mood to dig every target and I'm able to do a 365 degree sweep on a strong signal and get a grunt all the way around.   For a PI machine, I think that's the best we can get.
