I think this is one of the excellent test fields..in the UK where you will be able to compare the results of different detectors on this test field..

Kevin ... made a new test field.. where he applied the features from his old test field and supplemented them with new test targets and detection situations...

The composition and number of targets is really thoughtful and interesting and what's more..it allows for a thorough comparison of the tested Detector on a given type of target and different depths...

Also, the optical representation of the tested target allows you to understand exactly what detection situation and specifically one at a given moment of testing..

So you have the opportunity to assess in what detection situation the tested detector can or cannot reach the target..

  • The title was changed to Staffs Metal Detector Tests - Excellent Testing Field In The UK...

While i really appreciate the hard work and dedication ,without mentioning the setting theory(like i know my machine better than you).Ok we now know the reaction on targets on a certain ground. But we dont know on salt water beach or mineralised ground(like in OZ).

Does that make one machine better than the other no ............is it relevant of the 50% power no, as i owned both(sold the D2) i can only said that the manti has an edge for me on the beach at the moment with the coils available as today. On iron infested same BUT the new Elliptical from XP may give an edge to the D2 on iron littered ground.

So i guess we are back to square one😅

After a certain level of average performance we always end back up at some square on the scale because local conditions rule beyond the basics. That is why I appreciate such a well thought out test field such as this. It is an example of what kind of setups are possible in my local grounds. It’s inspiration beyond the interesting test results that Staffs shows.
