Did he not expound on it in the 3rd post?

Not really at least not clearly…I too was thinking the same thing as Daniel..after all we are in the comparisons advice forum where almost anything goes if you want to call out a detector for its faults or good traits…I have one spot where the M Core give me fits and I don’t like to use it there but for the most part it excels at most locations that I have been too…

Why do you suppose the Manticore struggles on that particular site?

It is a fresh water beach on the delta full of magnetite and lots of trash. I've tried lots of settings and settled on prospecting mode as being the best. The 800 seemed easier to use there but it did love the bottle caps sometimes 2 per scoop! At least I can disk out the bottle caps with the m core easily..I'll be going back soon after it warms up...the 8 and 10 inch coils help...my deus 2 does well there but often I'm in the water and don't like fooling around with antennas lol. I've actually thought about getting an Algo force just to try out there but have not been detecting enough this year to justify buying a new detector...

Well I traded the Deus 2 back for the Manticore w/11" and m8 coils. I liked the Manticore better.

I might later get a Deus 2 w/elliptical coil.
