It's only speculation at this point, but it seems to me that the HF2 combo would probably be the best bet, due to its wider range of capability. Under the new Beta software, the 9" round coil did not get much increased functionality.

I have an Equinox 600, and when a 9.5x5" elliptical came out for it I put it on and never took it off. Personally I prefer an elliptical coil to a round one.

I have little doubt that XP has thought this one out, and the HF2 will prove to be a winner. 🤔

In the past, the only XP detector that could be purchased with just an HF elliptical or HF round coil was the XP ORX. For a Deus 1 purchase, you had to choose a black coil as the stock included coil and the HF coils were an additional accessory.

XP have repeatedly said that they will not make a 9" round HF2 coil for Deus 2. XP feels like the original 9" FMF coil is already too much like the original HF 9" round coil. This was repeated again recently during Southern Relic Adventure's live stream with three XP employees. For me anyway, that 9" round HF coil was the only coil I really needed for my Deus 1 and ORX.

With Deus 2, I would want more options. The HF2 elliptical is going to be very limited as far as overall depth no matter how powerful it is. It's just physics in the end and coil size matters.

So, I would not expect XP to offer a Deus 2 package with just the HF2 coil as the only coil included.

If I was buying a Deus 2 today, I would want a 9" or 11" coil along with the HF2 elliptical which I would have to buy as an accessory coil.
