I still don't know if it is just a one off and if it has any age.  The beach I found it on is old and new and has junk dumped on it and old things too.

As a matter of fact, several of us looked at some other things I found there at my metal detecting club meeting and one of the pieces I found that looked like a rough nail/spike we think was used in a ship's hull.  I highlight that in the old post.

I have the exact same mermaid , along with others to a set. Which include half moon , star , sun , wizard and a couple others. All found on a beach in LA , within about a 10' area in the wet sand. Found all mine about 5 yrs ago. Through my research , I found them to be "Santeria" offerings. You can look them up.

I looked at those but even with CoPilot didn't come up with an exact match or find a set.

King of Bling is right, they are figurines for Santaria, Yemaya or Yemọja offerings- a goddess of the sea in African and some Caribbean religions.  It’s also a fertility goddess Mitchel, so you may not want to touch it! 🤣

I don't think it's related to his find but for sure has to do with some partying on the beach, it's a bottle opener!!

Very similar to this one.
