Those Of You That Have Pre-Ordered A HF2 Coil Chime In If You Get A Shipping Notification

As did mine, out using it. Came fully charged. 10 hour battery! 🥳

Got mine too.

I’m only going to use it with my WS6 for now until the software issues are ironed out.

I grumbled a bit about the super slow rollout of the HF2 coil in a comment to a recently posted XP YouTube vid and this was the standard response they replied with. I'm glad they did respond, but they didn't exactly provide much in the way of concrete, or updated, information.

My Comment:

I ordered (and paid for) an HF2 coil from a well established, sizable, vendor 2 months ago. I checked in with them this week and was told to date they have only received 3 HF2 coils from XP and they have received absolutely no updates recently from XP. Unfortunately, it sounds like we all might be in for a considerable wait on these... just guessing, but maybe by Christmas....?

From XP:

"We are experiencing a demand that far exceeds our production capacity, resulting in unexpected delays. We strive to reduce coil production times as much as possible, but we refuse to compromise on quality. Please be assured of our every effort to ship newly produced units as quickly as possible to our distributors around the world. Thank you for your understanding."

Has XP received all of this pre-order money for pre-ordered coils? What would happen if all wanted the pre-order money refunded? I was told by my well established, sizable, vendor that I could request a refund and all this would do is place my name a little farther down on the list. I don't want to do this because of the monetary stress on the vendor and possibly XP. However, the old addage of supply and demand becomes appropiate in the conversation.

That's not how it works.  XP is going to make coils at their maximum production capacity until they have fulfilled all outstanding initial distributor orders for the coil.

XP doesn't receive pre-order money direct from end users.  Dealers give distributors the demand signal by ordering X number of coils and the distributors in turn place orders with XP based on total dealer demand.  Dealers (large and small) can decide whether they want to take and hold people's money or simply place them on a waiting list in the order in which their request came in and then charge them when the coil ships.  That's a dealer call on whether or not to ask for pre-payment to get on a waiting list based on how much risk the dealer  is willing to take on and how much they trust their customer base to come through when its time to pay up.  If someone demands their money back, the that's the dealer's problem to deal with, he is on the hook to pay for whatever he requested of the distributor whether or not a customer walks and demands their money back.

Thanks Chase for your reply. I pre-paid for mine approximately 2 months ago and wouldn't think of a refund, especially from the vendor, unless it is like a Christmas shippment. Now with XP, I probably would think about it.
