I don't have a great memory either, Chuck.  I had to look the actual dates up, but I did remember that those HF coils came out before Orx.

Well I’m not sure but it’s like when I go up the stairs in my home I can’t stop because then I can’t remember was I going up are was I going down .

 Chase is like my guardian angel in he’s just looking after a old goat 🐐 like me in what I say and do.

 I know The above statement may be a little over stated but some people I just like.

XP Depar 600 was released in November of 2016 with the HF coils. It may have been in use in Africa even before that. ORX was mostly an offshoot of the Depar 600 and is fully compatible with the original HF coils. Deus 1 is not.

Granted that's true re: the Depar 600, but the fact remains that the HF coils were released well before the Orx (repackaged Depar) was released for sale (in 2018) and the Spring 2017 update to enable the HF coils to be bought and work with the more readily avail XP Deus 1 also occurred more than a year prior to Orx release. Which was my point.

Jeff, remind me again how the Deus 1 is not fully compatible with the HF coils?   Are you talking ID normalization?  It's been a long time since I have given the D1 or Orx a second thought since I am primarily relic hunting and haven't turned on my D1 or Orx since the D2 showed up.  Thanks.

I think Software 4.0 for Deus 1 could already use HF coils..

The HF coils were designed for the Depar gold prospecting detector and the gold prospecting programs on the ORX which had Disc IAR and an iron tone On/Off function which made those gold prospecting programs 2 tone VCO capable. Deus I Goldfield never had that iron tone function. So it wasn’t just the automatic ID normalization on the ORX that made it more compatible with the HF coils.

Thanks.  Yep, forgot about 2 tone.  That's my go to setup for Relic IAR so I forgot that was not a feature on D1 and why I preferred Orx for Relic hunting before D2 came along.
