That is a good question and I have felt from experience that I knew the answer. But to make sure I did a little test. It's posted in the comparison topic on this forum.

I banged out several wheaties with the HF2 and two of them today specifically were in areas that have seen many determined coils since the mid 70's. All of these targets were relatively shallow, and may have been masked under larger coils working through razed trashy grounds here in the past, including my own.  I can typically run sensitivity up to 98 with this HF2 set up, and was swinging over taller grass with success. It surprised me. I paid too much and gladly so. I found a men's 10k gold ring on the surface by sight while using this coil and i do count that as far as it paying for itself.
