The Golden Mask Altus is a real game changer. It incorporates the new Golden Mask Binary Sinus Pulse (BSP) hybrid technology to outperform any detector on today's market. The shape and cycle of emitted magnetic fields are key to achieving superior detection depth. Mass-market detectors typically use one of two field types:
1. Continuous Sinusoidal Fields (VLF-based):
Efficient, lightweight, fast-response, and easy to produce with good discrimination.
Drawbacks: Shallow depth, poor ground noise suppression, and reduced performance in mineralized soils.
2. Pulsed Rectangular/Trapezoidal Fields (PI-based):
Greater depth, robust in diverse soils, and broader signal range.
Drawbacks: High power consumption, heavy, very expensive, complex, and slow signal analysis with poor selectivity.
To overcome these limitations, GM developed BSP (Binary Sinus Pulse) — a hybrid waveform combining two sine signals of different frequencies, producing a continuous bipolar pulse with sinusoidal edges and plateaus.
BSP technology key benefits:
• Exceptional depth performance
• Full ground and cavity noise suppression
• Wide signal spectrum detection
• Strong magnetic field with low power use (high efficiency)
• Lightweight and compact
• Simple antenna system
• High immunity to external interference
• Superior discrimination and selectivity
• Fast, clear target response (high scan rate)
BSP merges the strengths of both VLF and PI systems without their flaws. It supports both deep relic hunting and fast coin shooting. BSP is already implemented in the fast and deep-seeking ALTUS detector.

Sounds like it could potentially be what the GM2000 could have been?

Hopefully someone gets one and lets us all know how it goes, it sounds good on paper.

They're not sold in my country so I'd have to import one and all the complications that involves.

  • The title was changed to New Technology From Golden Mask Binary Sinus Pulse (BSP)

Had  my eye on this one for a while shame its not W/P.

Lead time?

I'd be curious to know @Geotech thoughts on this, it sounds similar to some of the hybrid designs he goes over in the latest edition of Inside the Metal Detector, potentially something similar to his truncated half sine prototype.

I know this is changing the subject but I was looking at your profile and I see you have a Deep Tech Gold Gain and I was wondering how you like it? I’ve had mine for a while but just haven’t had the opportunity to get where I wanted to use it.

It’s a lot great detectors out there but it’s a long swim to check them out . It’s not many dealers that’s willing to stick their neck out like Richard selling Deep Tech .

It would be interesting to get this detector on an oscilloscope to see what it’s putting out. I’ve checked some in years past on what they said but didn’t always hold true.

Sounds like half-sine running two frequencies, like this (p513-514):

Would that type of technolgy produce the claimed results?
