RONS DETECTORS MINELAB
JP has also been promoting it on Facebook, says VLF is dead and that the GM 2000 is a VLF masher. I’m glad it can get some water on it now and has a threshold 😀 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28586-gold-monster-2000-headphones-not-wireless/page/2/#findComment-298447 Share on other sites
phrunt
I'm much the same, I can't find anywhere mentioning headphones, although I'm starting to see the marketing onslaught but it's all known information we have already. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28586-gold-monster-2000-headphones-not-wireless/page/2/#findComment-298461 Share on other sites
Aureous
Jump to 6.10 if you wanna get to the headphones bit. Even this guy saw the info re the wireless headphones from the dealer conference posts. I'll try to find the FB posts a bit later. Steve Herschbach
Use the share function to make the video show up here as I generally delete bare links to videos. Fixed it for you. The guy is literally watching a video made by another guy in a foreign language and commenting on it. Yeah, straight from Minelab for sure. Don’t bother with anymore of it on my behalf. If you feel like Minelab made a promise and reneged on it I’m not going to argue over it. I was actually asking about all these dealer posts about the GM2000 that seem to have gone poof. But whatever, moving on…… 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28586-gold-monster-2000-headphones-not-wireless/page/2/#findComment-298475 Share on other sites

No argument here Steve, if you look at my original post, I refer to it as a 'Promise' (in caption) to suggest it was inferred via a couple dealers at the conference. I was of course hoping it was true and that ML would directly confirm it. So, no argument at all. Usually when info comes from a direct (supposedly) source, you can rely on it. Like I said....probably the info was lost in translation. But it is definitely a lost opportunity to portray the GM2000 as a value detector. I will be buying one regardless. $100-200 for a LL Bluetooth headphone setup is no big $$ to add anyway. I will look for the promo posts on Facebook this afternoon and see if they are still up. 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28586-gold-monster-2000-headphones-not-wireless/page/2/#findComment-298486 Share on other sites
Aureous
@Steve Herschbach, you are 100% correct, all 3 of the Aussie dealers have been told to take down their Facebook posts promoting the GM2000. They certainly jumped the gun. My local dealer has been swamped with requests to pay deposits (including me) and is down-playing its availability in September. I am wondering if they received the promo pics and cards with a view to posting 'soon' but did it immediately instead, by mistake. Because all 3 I saw were identical. They had that 'Official' look to them.... 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28586-gold-monster-2000-headphones-not-wireless/page/2/#findComment-298487 Share on other sites

Vic, I'm the same, never found earbud type headphones comfortable. The only one's I've ever been able to use are Koss The Plug. They have that squishy foam like safety ear plugs do. So you squash them, insert, and then the foam expands to fit. But the big problem with them for detecting is the back of them is open, so they'd be hopeless in the wind. But sound quality from what I remember was really crisp. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28586-gold-monster-2000-headphones-not-wireless/page/2/#findComment-298578 Share on other sites
Steve Herschbach
There are times I want to use headphones but my big over ear ones are too much. Like when wearing a wide brim hat! I also find most ear bud type headphones simply fall out of my ears when detecting. Especially my right ear, which has a small ear canal. So I got a set of Bose SoundSport in-ear headphones a few years ago and could not be more happy. They have a design that locks them into my ear and they never fall out, plus the sound quality is so good I also use them for music listening. They make versions for Apple and Android devices with built in volume controls, but mine are the basic no volume control "audio only" model that cost half as much. These unfortunately have been discontinued. However, you can usually still find them on eBay or elsewhere. 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28586-gold-monster-2000-headphones-not-wireless/page/2/#findComment-298583 Share on other sites
