Roland78
My first post...thank you all for allowing me to be here. I really enjoy dirt fishing. Gone through a Bounty Hunter, F75, CTX and now a Manticore after a few year break for physical issues. I'm in NE TX, the 'piney woods', with air you can wear. Always looking for someplace and someone with whom to hunt. 78 and slow, but, sure. Still learning the machine, although, having had a CTX helps. Best to all, Roland 7 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28652-hello-folks/ Share on other sites

Best to all, Roland Welcome from the Right Coast Roland! Lots of stuff here on the Manticore, you're in a great place. 🙂 Tell us more about the places you want to hunt, and ask any specific questions. JCR
Welcome from Anderson County, Texas. I appreciate your description of our humid season. Got any red dirt under those Pine trees? Roland78
The knowledge needed for releasing the full potential of the "Beast" will take a little while. My CTX (my first good detector) took about 6-8 weeks of use and experimentation to become fairly proficient. Still learning, but, I will get it. Questions: If a power pack is used to extend hunting time, it simply plugs into the USB charging port. What amp/hour rating do most use and approx how long will it last? This would seem to be a very inefficient way to extend operating time. If the power pack were on a separate circuit from the charging system, it should operate the machine a lot longer as it would not be 'charging' the battery. Think putting one good battery in a dead flashlight that uses two batteries. The light would work for a shorter time. It needs a port that directly powers the machine bypassing the battery. Is that correct or do I have it wrong? Thanks, Roland On 6/12/2025 at 9:47 AM, JCR said: Welcome from Anderson County, Texas. I appreciate your description of our humid season. You have more sand, correct? Being this close from each other, we should meet and do some hunting. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28652-hello-folks/#findComment-298874 Share on other sites

If the power pack were on a separate circuit from the Hey Roland, I do a lot of extended hunts and my battery only lasts about 6 hours, I use the M15 a lot so I prefer a counterweight, thus I use a 10000mAh power delivery (PD) battery pack that sadly is not available anymore. I simply bungee it under the arm cuff and run the stock charging wire to the port. No problem s and the battery is at 50% after an 8-9 hour session, and the detector is 100%. It works good. 🤗 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28652-hello-folks/#findComment-298878 Share on other sites
Roland78
Thank you, F350. Very useful info and much appreciated. I haven't run mine completely down. I do wish Minelab would have put a resettable timer that would keep up with run time. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28652-hello-folks/#findComment-298879 Share on other sites
Roland78
F350, Just an FYI...I found a 20K mah power pack for $14, made by that famous company "Coofly" on a popular shopping site. That should last a while and charge the machine 3 times? maybe more? For $25 - $28 there are real brand name units, like Belkin. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28652-hello-folks/#findComment-298925 Share on other sites
