Minelab Gold Monster 2000 Metal Detector - Introduction Launch Video

ADELAIDE, Australia, July 1, 2025 /CNW/ -- Minelab is proud to announce the launch of the GOLD MONSTER 2000, a fully automatic gold detector engineered to deliver more precision, more depth, and more gold in all soils. Retailing at USD $1,799, the GOLD MONSTER 2000 is positioned as a high-performance option for both experienced gold prospectors and those ready to achieve serious results in the field.

At the core of this release is Multi-Au Technology, Minelab's new hybrid detection engine that combines the sensitivity of VLF with ground-condition versatility of Pulse Induction for effective performance across diverse soil types. This proprietary technology is optimized for detecting fine gold at greater depths in mineralized soil, increasing performance and maximizing yields. It's a major step forward in both reach and efficiency.

Audio performance has been significantly enhanced with Echo Wave audio, a refined signal response system that improves clarity without compromising target depth. Users can now distinguish gold signals from hot rocks, rubbish, or background noise. On-screen, the Gold Chance Indicator provides immediate visual feedback, shifting towards either probable gold or ferrous targets to support faster, more confident digging decisions.

Sensitivity is easy to manage, with 10 levels of manual control and an advanced automatic mode that continuously adjusts in real time. Combined with Easy-Trak and Quick-Trak Ground Balance, users can detect without interruption, even as soil conditions change.

The GOLD MONSTER 2000 also brings significant improvements in portability. It features a collapsible carbon-fiber shaft system that is lightweight, durable, and ideal for transport in remote terrain. The full system is designed for immediate field readiness.

KEY FEATURES:

  • Multi-Au Technology – Hybrid Simultaneous Multi-Frequency, with VLF sensitivity and Pulse Induction ground-handling performance
  • Echo Wave Audio – Enhanced tones cut through noise to identify real targets
  • Real-Time Visual Guidance – Gold Chance Indicator and ample Target ID range (0–99) combine for smarter decision making
  • Easy-Trak and Quick-Trak – Automatic and manual ground balance for continuous performance
  • 10 Sensitivity Levels and 2 Auto Modes – Manual control or fully automated operation
  • 3 Detection Modes – Maximum sensitivity in mineralized, conductive, and mild soils
  • Wide Frequency Range (12 to 75 kHz) – Detects small gold near the surface and larger targets at depth, without switching machines
  • Lightweight Telescopic Shaft – Collapsible carbon-fiber and fiberglass construction for rugged terrain
  • Included in the box: 5" DD waterproof coil, telescopic shaft, control pod, armrest, 2 rechargeable Li-ion batteries, wired earbuds, AC and car chargers, and a Getting Started Guide.

Projected availability in September 2025

Great video ! PROVACATIVE !

Thats what it takes to be productive.

But Im not sold on this, need to see some guys in the field using and rating it.

Won't happen until after availability in September. If history is any guide don't be surprised by delays, be smart to be thinking October at best.

I’ve gone over this multiple times but it’s a lost cause. It’s an SMF, period. The PI and hybrid stuff is just a reference to time domain based ground processing. I can imagine engineers cringing and marketers gleefully rubbing hands together. Since this is not a PI it will not have PI depth. There is no pulse delay, no pause in signal transmission. What the processing does is help eliminate ground noise and hot rocks, but only within the depths normally attainable with a SMF. This will give more apparent depth by eliminating noise that might interfere with the actual signal. But in no way will it compete for sheer depth with a PI.

It’s chumming the water style marketing that is truthful but lets people imagine things that are not being said. Already I have seen multiple cases of magical thinking around this, and since this is a tiny corner of the internet, this self hype cycle will run rampant elsewhere. Some dealers will feed the fire. Even here I can see now it’s a waste of my time to try and tamp it down, may as well let people run wild. “Full discrimination to PI depth” full iron discrimination to full depth, I mean ECHO-Wave, gotta be, right” “it’s a HYBRID OMG”

I am not reacting to you personally Bill, just what I see happening with this in general. I have always believed in managing expectations, under promising and over delivering. Minelab runs the risk here of the marketing going insanely overboard with this one, expectations off the charts, people expecting or thinking this is a PI. And then some serious blowback when they think they were mislead.

Or not. There is still time for Minelab to clarify the terminology and the expectations if they wish. We will see.

Usual over-hyped promotional wank from Minelab, but they all do it nowadays. At least now we know where the audio jack is, plus just how pathetic those $2 earbuds actually look. <poking bear>   Still cant wait to start using the GM2000 come September/October.....old dyed-in-the-wool Induction Balance guy here....Like JP said, it brings you back to the 'good old days'

It was meant in humor as the description is like “all the detectors you know and love all rolled into one!”  I’m sarcastic.

Me too, sorry!  Unfortunately hard to tell sarcasm from otherwise on a forum.
