5280 Adventurers has a video showing Dilek in I believe of March of this year giving away what she called a high end detector. The guy who won it would receive it in the mail but at no time was it shown.

The guy on the video stated it would compete with the Deus 2 and the Manticore.

It was said the Legend needed a facelift so maybe this is it .

Dilek why don’t you come on here and tell us all about this new high end detector that will compete with the Deus and the Manticore so it was said.

The expression goes The cat is out of the bag . So why not let the faithful few know what was going to be a surprise in the near future!

I saw that video, the guy on the video speculated being a high-end machine it must be to compete with the Manticore and Deus 2, he didn't know, I would assume the person won a Nokta PI when its released.

Dilek was calling it a high end detector and like you said the guy that won it would receive it when it was released.

Like you said the guy talking maybe was assuming it would compete with the Deus 2 and the Manticore.

In my opinion if it’s not beyond what the Iegend has to offer now and can’t compete with the above then why bother.

This new detector from Nokia not only needs to compete but it really needs to leave them sucking up it’s dust plus under cut their price.

Only time will tell the whole story and the money we willing to put out to find out what’s true.

The Swing Into Summer hunt was on June 22 so just a couple of weeks ago.

Dilek gave the contest winner a voucher for a "surprise detector". She said "Once it is announced you are going to get it". "It's a higher end detector"

The Legend was announced years ago. The PI detectors have also already been announced so I agree with Tony from 5280. Dilek is talking about a higher end VLF.

Regardless, Nokta's track record lately (not counting the Score series, which are just Legend variants with streamlined features/settings) is that you are still a good 6 to 18 months away from release, after they announce a new model.  So, unless Nokta has gotten wise to reducing the pause between announcement and release, if this mystery detector hasn't even been announced yet, the guy is still several months and perhaps more than a year away from getting his free mystery detector.

Glad to see some of us still has some romantic blood left in us. Even if it’s not true it still gives us something to dream about.

Chuck, I don’t know anything about romantic blood.

I do know Tony really well for many years since we are fellow Eureka Treasure Hunter club members.

He gets inside information that he can’t repeat. So do I sometimes.

Dilek opened the door and leaked it.

Call me a grumpy cynic, Chuck, but romance and dreaming doesn't put gold and silver into my finds pouch today.  Honestly, I haven't seen anything to get excited about on the VLF front in the two years since Manticore was released.  And it's been 3 years since Legend (I like the Triple Score, but it's not ground breaking, just a streamlined Legend without Gold mode and with a menu system you don't need a cheat sheet to use).  And frankly, I am not sitting here bemoaning a vlf appropriate situation that can't be handled by the Legend, Manticore, or Deus 2, today - so I'm not sure what would be compelling about a higher tier than Legend other than fixing it's user interface flaws by reverting to the nice wide screen form factor and easy navigation screens of it's Makro predecessors. With SMF now commonplace and affordable, VLF performance has basically plateaued, so we are effectively just polishing a cannon ball at this point with each subsequent VLF detector release.  So my detector dreaming has been replaced by detached curiosity.  I need time and places to detect, not new detectors at this point.  Have a Happy 4th!
