Here’s information on the 43-101 standards.  There’s others around the world such as Australian and South African and are often interchangeable.

I'm not sure on China but it wouldn’t surprise me if they either use one of the standards or have adopted their own that is quite similar.  After all Chinese mining companies operate globally.

There was a small “mining” operation in our local mountains that was supported by defrauded investors also, there were perhaps hundreds of them throughout the US. Harvesting greed makes a good business, but it’s usually short-lived.

Years ago in Nevada I was asked to look into mining claims that I soon deemed fraudulent.  The owner was holding several 160 acre association placer claims under several LLCs he created.  He had taken in millions in investor dollars but never produced.  This type of fraud was listed on the NBMG, Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology website.  The claims were way out in the middle of a dry lake playa, the commodity was gold not lithium.  The owner told investors that it would consistently assay 4 OPT+ but so sub-microscopic that it can’t be seen and can only be assayed in his lab using his specially developed technology.  I tried to explain to some investors the truth but they wouldn’t listen.  What I said was trust only established assay methods and certified labs.  Also I explained the gold comes from quartz veins in the mountains at great distances.  That those mountains consist of hundreds of billions of tons of barren rock and the quartz carrying gold are only a tiny fraction of the mountains.  Only a tiny fraction of the veins run 1-2 OPT gold.  The playa is as deep as a mile eroded from those mountains.  This is not like a standard placer close to the source made up of sand, gravel, rock and clay that broke down, reduced the barren rock and ore acting like a sluice box.  That there was no way for nature to concentrate that much gold on the surface of the playa.  I told them that if gold is there it’s likely traces.  Ask the owner if you can take samples out on the claim on locations of your choice or hire someone. I can recommend an exploration geologist.  Anyway, they wouldn’t listen, one got angry and said “just cuz you don’t understand blah blah” and in the end they lost their investment.  The owner never produced or faced consequences and retired with millions.  I just wasn’t going to waste anymore of my time and free advice with people that were so lured, so convinced by a slick talking charlatan.  Still it was an interesting experience!  If I didn’t know any better, I too could have been convinced!  Gold!  GOLD!  Nope.

How many times have we heard stories about a discovery that will change the gold market?

Anyway, they wouldn’t listen,

I've been in that same position numerous times, usually on placer ground. I will never understand why, when it comes to gold mining, it is so difficult to save people from themselves.
