Greeting From Fairbanks, Alaska

I have been kicking around Alaska since the 80’s.   Came up in the military and stayed.  Mostly small scale dredging.   Recently bought a high banker.   I have a very old Gold Bug detector and I think it’s time to update and upgrade.  Looking forward to getting some info and opinions about detectors for Alaska.

What branch of military & what base? I spent my first 3 years in the Air Force (76' - 79') at Eielson AFB near Fairbanks.
