A Little More Manticore Gold

A friend of mine recently purchased a Minelab Manticore so we went to a lake and I helped him set up his machine. We hunted in waist deep water but this spot was very rocky and retrieving targets was challenging and tiring. There were plenty of both trash and good signals to practice on and we found a decent amount of clad and a little bit of jewelry. I wound up with 6 rings and a 2 gram 14k pendant.

The next day I was looking at one of the silver rings and saw that it was stamped "925 14K" and it was only then that I noticed the small gold feature on top of the ring. A little surprise gold is always welcome! My friend likes his new detector and can't wait to go out again, perhaps the beach next time.

Those are very nice.  

It is not 'normal' to mix gold and silver in jewelry.  I can remember one beach find that did a good job.  When cleaning the silver, it shows the stability of the gold.

Did your friend find anything?

Wow! I just realized that my text did not go through when I first responded! My friend did not find the David Yurman chain. It is one example of the very few jewelry items that I have found that have mixed silver and gold. My friend found about 50 coins and a couple of rings on this last hunt - 1 tungsten ring and an unmarked ring that might be titanium.

Nice stuff Compass! My wife is a David Yurman fan, he does mix gold and silver in a lot of his jewelry. She has a few things from him. That ring is beautiful, i bought her 2 like that and found one for her. 😅

Nice looking ring! And the last one with the horse on it sure looks good too! Silver and gold on the same ring is something you don't see too often. Well done!
