I have no idea of your skill level and experience history, but if you are on a large huntsite, you are going to have to develop disciplined patience! Remember, a four inch coil swing overlap is two inches! It could take you awhile to hunt large areas, but know this you will be getting in between trash targets with some precision. Make sure you manual ground balance first over a no-metal section of ground. Target response wider than your searchcoil diameter can sometimes mean iron in a non-auto retuned all-metal mode. Don't swing too hard, you might throw yourself across the hunt field if not careful... Those Tesoro Umax's are quite light, especially with 4" searchcoils! 🙂

Hello lowtone. Congrats on this nice detector. What Bob said is absolutely correct.

My suggestion would be to start with the lowest discrimination level. With the Bandido, even small ferrous particles are blocked out, but the detector still detects small non-ferrous particles in between.

Diggin Dude and Paul Warren's videos on YouTube were a great help to me, and they might be to you too.

I also had the pleasure of talking with Monte Berry about the detectors. There are still many posts by Monte in the forums, but it takes some effort to find them using a search query.

Happy Hunting & Have Fun 🍀🤞😎

hello 0 discri should remove all the iron nails, its not a depth demon especially with the 4" but it will be very selective.

Try turn the ground negative (counter clockwise). It will run hotter that way so don't to far negative. It will increase your depth. It might matter going negative in bad dirt. I don't know.

A great detector. I have a Tejon but wouldn't mind have a Bandio 2 umax.

The 8" round concentric coil work great and the 9x8 concentric. I would try and get one of those if you need one.
