I also took V 3.1 for a spin at a local tidal salt bay beach site this past weekend.  Perhaps not as high salinity as an ocean beach site but it did exhibit salt conditions in the wet sand and shallow water.

I too can confirm that Pitch 2 in Beach Sensitive with the 11" FMF coil resulted in unacceptable falsing on most ferrous targets and also hindered "manual" coil edge pinpointing on all targets.  This appeared to be because the Pitch 2 signal was very coarse and did not show leading and trailing edge intensity ramps as you swung over the target compared to Pitch 1.  Because of this behavior, I defaulted back to Pitch 1 and the falsing was greatly reduced and I could resume normal coil edge-based pinpointing which I find to be more effective than the built-in coik based pinpointing mode.  If XP could implement Manticore-like pinpointing behavior, that would be ideal.

I will note that I was not experiencing any target ID blanking behavior at any depth with a variety of coin, sinker, jewelry, and toy car targets recovered in the wet salt sand with V 3.1, Beach Sensitive with the 11" FMF coil, contrary to Lokator and dataman88's observations.  Not refuting Lokator's and dataman88's independent observations on this salt beach TID blanking/delay issue, just saying I was looking for it and did not see it.  Maybe it has something to do with salinity levels.  At this particular beach I am able to run salt sensitivity to 9 with stable operation and the occasional moving salt water/sand noise glitch.

Bottom line is that I will only run V3.1 on a dedicated remote or WS6 Master Puck to accommodate the HF2 coil only as that is my only option with that coil, while retaining a dedicated V2.0 setup for the black FMF coils until this V3.1 falsing tendency and is addressed.  Very curious about this Beach mode TID blanking issue based on two independent reports even though I did not observe it myself.

could you use the hf2 plate with the 2.0 software?

No.

I tried to connect the hf2 coil with the v2 software and it works obviously you don't have the high frequencies and the negative silencer etc... but the coil works!

Did not work on my V2 machine at all - HF2 coil will not pair.  Has anyone else tried this?

Non ha funzionato affatto sul mio dispositivo V2: la bobina HF2 non si accoppia. Qualcun altro ha provato?

I did the test after asking if it was possible because currently, to my great regret, it is impossible for me to use the hf2 coil in the places I frequent, I bought it to have greater separation in the middle of the iron but today it is impossible for me to hunt in these contexts since the iron falsifies around the tid 50-60-70... then I tried with the v2 to pair the hf2 coil and it works, it gives me the classic frequencies that I have on the black 9" one, I thought at least the shape should help me to separate better so that at least I can use it 😞

Congrats.  Doesn't work for me.  (See my other post below).

Didn't work for me either. Sticks in the pairing loop. 🤔

Don't see how this is technically possible (especially utilizing the exact FMF coil frequency settings) and both myself and @F350Platinum have been unsuccesful at pairing the HF2 coil with V2 programmed remotes - it accepts the coil address in the coil listing but never actually pairs up with the coil and causes a pairing loop that can only be remedied by taking the HF2 coil out of comms range with the remote.  If you haven’t done so, suggest you double check and verfy with actual targets waved in front of the HF2 coil that it is actually paired up with the V2 controller, as I suspect you are actually seeing your 9" legacy (or other) FMF coil pairing up (which could happen if it is nearby while you were trying to pair the HF2).  Otherwise, your situation is unusual and there is no telling whether the FMF coil settings applied to the HF2 coil would result in reliable coil performance and there might even be the possibility of causing an HF2 coil malfunction and voided warranty coverage.

Would like to know if anyone else out there has successfully paired the HF2 coil with a remote or WS6 Master puck running V2 or prior software.
