Been seeing a lot of posts on various forums about the new Nokta Magnetar PI's that are supposedly "coming soon". Not sure how long this has been going on since I'm not a Nokta guy, but sounds like it's been well over a year or more that Nokta started saying they're developing a new PI. But all they seem to say is "coming soon", so lots of guys seem to be flustered and wondering when the new PI is finally going to come out.

Here’s the latest info I’ve heard. As I mentioned, I'm not a Nokta guy so don't have a dog in this hunt, but on a recent (Aug) Treasure Talk Digging Report, Karen from the 2Sisters YouTube channel was on. She looked excited & after being introduced, she quickly said “Phil “I do have a scoop for you”, then said “Nokta is about to release 2 new detectors “This Fall”, they’re both gonna be pulse induction, Gold, Relic, etc. She then said she got this information directly from Alyshia, a Nokta Nomad at the Detecting Michigan seeded hunt.

Fast Forward to 8:38....

Karen also said that she posted a video of her conversation with Alyshia “Nokta: 2 NEW Detectors Coming SOON!” So I headed to her channel to watch that video. She’s speaking with Alyshia, and Alyshia confirmed what everyone already knows about the 2 new PI’s. Then Alyshia said that Nokta is currently in the hard core testing phase, and that they want to get the PI’s perfected before releasing. Maybe that’s due to Fisher and Garrett, releasing the AQ & Vortex before all the bugs were worked out. But she didn’t mention “Fall” on camera, only would say the detectors are “coming soon”.

Fast forward to 0:30....

So, on the August Digging Report’s video, Karen mentions she has a scoop directly from Nokta, and says the 2 new PI’s are coming this Fall. But on her channels video, where she’s speaking with Alyshia at the Detecting MI hunt in July, Alyshia seemed to tow the company line and would only say “coming soon”.

Not sure what to make of all this but IMO, 3 possibilities exist:

1. Either Karen misspoke by misinterpreting "coming soon" to mean the Fall.

2. Since a month has gone by since the Detecting MI hunt and the most recent Digging Report, maybe Nokta gave Alyshia the OK to let a Fall release slip to Karen, since we're now getting closer to the Fall.

3. It's also possible that during a private conversation with Karen, either before or after the camera started recording, Alyshia may have let it slip that the PI’s would be releasing in the Fall. She may have said that to Karen privately, but once recording started, she may have been under company orders to stick with saying “coming soon”.

I wouldn’t discount #3, as people tend to say one thing in private, but another thing for public consumption. I think we’ve all done variations of this. If I found 5 gold rings during 1 beach hunt, I may post on the forums that I found these 5 gold rings on the beach, but wouldn’t specify the specific beach. But I probably would give the specifics to a detecting buddy I share hot spots with. There always seems to be 2 stories, 1 story for the general public, and the 2nd, maybe the real story, to let slip in private.

  • The title was changed to New Nokta PI - Latest I've Heard

If she's right both the gold and relic are waterproof, which is what we were told early on from Dilek from memory as that's when I ruled out the chances of using GPX coils on it.

Nothing new in that video really as Dilek has already mentioned all of that here months ago, they're doubling down on it being competitive with the top machines from the competitors though which is promising.

From what I understand, both will be waterproof, probably the main difference is how they're tuned or set up. First one released will be for Gold, the 2nd will be for Relic Hunters. I'm a Beach/Water hunter, and the guys on some of the other forums are bummed as we'd love to have a new PI designed for Beach/Water hunting. Personally, if they're both waterproof, I'd look at which one would be closer to detecting what we seek, if they would be able to handle saltwater, and if Nokta will have any open coils for those PI's.

Hey Sand Hunter.  I appreciate your posting this but as you can see it hasn't resulted in much activity.  For me, and I think I speak for many others, this endless empty teasing of new detectors has just become boring.  The rumor mill has run dry.  When we get to the point that we are picking apart videos and statements looking for clues like we are researchers on Ancient Aliens I think the time has come to tell all of these companies to politely knock this nonsense off.  How do we do that?  By IGNORING them until they really have something to bring to market.  Nokta, a company I really like,  is the current example but they all do it.  Just develop a product, for God's sake test it with knowledgeable testers and not YouTube shills and influencers, and then release it.  It's not that hard. In the meantime, I have good detectors.  I can hunt without needing the latest and greatest, whatever the heck that is.

Hey Bill, I totally understand. As I mentioned in my initial post, I don't own any Nokta detectors and don't follow them. For the last 14 years, I've been swinging a Minelab Sovereign Elite, and several months ago I acquired an X-Terra Elite, and most recently, in the last month, I've acquired my 2nd ever White's, a Surfmaster Dual Field PI, so I'm pretty well covered for water hunting, wet sand, dry sand, coinshooting on land, etc. I'm new here to this forum but I belong to 4 others as well, but I just felt bad seeing so many guys posting about when this new PI will be coming out. I could tell that a lot of them seem to be uber frustrated with the waiting, false release dates, etc. So I post any more serious or credible updates I come across for their benefit. If it's just a guy on a forum posting this or that, I wouldn't post, but since Karen did have a video of her speaking with a Nokta rep about the PI, seeing/hearing her on the weekly Treasure Talk Digging Report, and seeing the video she posted on her channel, that looked to me to be a more serious/credible than just seeing a post from some guy, who heard from some guy, who heard from another guy, lol. Personally, I don't really care about this new PI coming out, I'm pretty set and happy with the detectors I have, and my current crop of detectors are MUCH better than the detectors I started with 56 years ago, i.e., BFO & TR's, lol.

Hey Sand Hunter, anybody who still hunts with a Sovereign is okay in my book.  I have a Sovereign XS myself and I still love it.

Shhhhh, don't say that too loud Bill, don't want everyone knowing what a total beast the Sov's are on the beach, lol.

I absolutely love my Sov Elite. I also had an XS-2 and XS-2a Pro. I know I sold one of those years ago, but I might still have the other one in a box somewhere, gotta take a look. But my Sov Elite with 12x10 & 15x12 SEF Butterfly coils has been my main "weapon" for hitting the sand & shallow water for the last 14 years. IMHO, it's the closest thing to a PI without being a PI. But recently, I picked up an X-Terra Elite and in the last month, picked up my first PI, a White's Dual Field. That's my 2nd Whites in 56 years, first was a Coinmaster IV my mom bought me when I was a kid. If I could find a target 6" down, that was DEEP, lol.

I'm an old school, turn knobs, beep & dig kinda guy. When I started as a kid, all detectors were all-metal, no push button pinpointing, so we didn't know any different. Back then, our "pinpointers" were long thin metal rods with a handle or screwdrivers. Man, the old timers will understand, but there was just something magical about getting a signal, dropping down, pushing that rod/screwdriver into the ground, then feeling it hit the target and hearing a faint "thud" when it made contact. And, no matter how advanced digital detector electronics have become, when it comes to pinpointing, there's nothing more exact than using a metal rod or screwdriver to locate exactly where the target was. And for depth indication, the rod/screwdriver pinpointing method is more advanced than any digital depth indicator. All I had to do was to put my index finger on the ground & against the rod, & keep it there as I withdrew the rod from the ground. Looking at the distance between my index finger and tip of the rod told me exactly how deep the target was. Can't get any better depth indication than that, lol.

I like simple, so I totally love the Sov's, just knobs and audio ID tones, love the Dual Field PI, only 3 knobs, and gotta listen to the tones, right up my alley. Still up in the air on the X-Terral Elite. Really nice detector, but has push buttons, not knobs, and has a lot of bells & I'm not used to. Thank God I bought the X-Terra Elite instead of the Manticore I was considering, my head would have exploded by now, lol.
