I'm surprised there is not a Forum for these. I have been using the GT for about 10 years. It's is an Awesome wet Salt beach detector.You will have to slow your swing down some compared to the newer fast response machines. Now let me tell you..They GO DEEP. you can get a chunky class ring at 15 inches. I find the best coil is the Detech Ultimate 13. It is lighter than the stock coil. These machines null on most Iron and you will know when you go over Gold..they have a distinct sound that you will learn to recognize.

Nice haul on the Gold!! Love the color!

I had a ULT 13 on my Excalibur for a few years, it was no doubt the best coil for depth, deeper then the WOT tooo ...only issue was i could only use it on wet sand and dry.. once it hit the saltwater it would start singing. The WOT you could take it into the saltwater ....... you would have to run the sensitivity very low.

The Detech Ultimate 13" appears to be an outstanding coil for every detector it's made.  I love my Gold Bug Pro version of it.  I only wish we could buy that coil on the modern Minelab's.  Detech really nailed it.
