I want to thank Steve (and the moderators) for what will be 5 years of patience with me 😏. This was the first and only metal detecting forum I joined nearly 5 years ago in December.

I was initially impressed by the level of knowledge and tolerance of the new members people have here, it's a hard road in life to find a place where the mentors always continue to exceed my skills as they grow, that is what keeps me here. I'm probably at stride now, but this forum always reins me in when I'm going off track. Thank you all as well.

Can't think of a better place to be. 🍀

Haven't posted much lately because life is getting in the way but that's about to change a bit. 🙂 I apologize in advance. 🤣

I find it very disheartening when I look at certain aspects of the hobby has become in the 48 years I've been continually involved. There are sides to it that are just unacceptable, but wherever humans are involved, trouble will come.

Steve, I would implore you to carry on as before. Your knowledge & helm control are unsurpassed. Make nothing of anyone else, this is your site & you alone have discretion here.

I came here to DP 18 months ago fed up of UK sites that became completely uninteresting to me. This site is a wonderful breath of fresh air, full of interesting & knowledgeable people from all over the world. I really enjoy it here, checking it out a few times a day & adding my own tales now & again. Its just plain good... I would miss your input sorely.

Things have changed a lot even in a few years. I've been bitten in the past too, but decided that I would carry on as is the right thing to do, no matter the hurt & disgust. Its our hobby, our choices.

Please do carry on as before and many thanks.

I’ve only been a member for about 6 months now.  I’ve learned more about the technical aspects of detectors and detecting techniques here on this sight from Steve, and other members than all the years of on & off detecting.  Or any other sight, including manufacturer sites.  Steve, you are actually doing it all the right way and it’s remarkable if you think about it.  Everyone is saying that in their own way.  I’m sure there’s been plenty of trail and error and learning the hard way along the way.  But that’s often just how life is, hindsight is 20 20.  There’s always going to be some complainer, you can’t please all the people all the time.  I don’t know of any way to improve on how this forum functions, other than the quality of any content I post and that applies to all of us.  Bottom line is Steve has done a good job and we all recognize that.

Steve don’t get  frustrated  over the haters they are always there when ever one does well there are those who are jealous  and take ones success as a threat to there own short comings the fact that you still have a forum  is due to your hard work and good  ethics   We all love you and know who you are and are thankful we have a place to come and share experience and tell lies   lol     Any man who is successful   Unfortunately   Will experience  this   And it is hard at times if we all had a outing you would not believe the outcome and support you have here   Thank you sir and  Godspeed          PS   There are a lot of good people here maybe you could get a moderator for a bit so you don’t have to   Do so much  all the things you have going on it has to get to  this point at times my 2 centavos

We may not always see things the same way, but our shared passion for metal detecting brings us together. Thanks to this forum—and Steve’s dedication—it’s more than a hobby; it’s a shared adventure. Wouldn’t be the same without it.

I would like to give my thanks to Steve as well.  I check this forum every day.  I have read the reviews many times

over and have learned so much.  Metal detecting has been a very healthy pursuit for me.  I am 80 years young and

this forum keeps me fueled for the next trip out.  Don't get discouraged, Steve.  You are as master of knowledge

and motivation.
