Looks like a lot of Legends will be dumped on the second-hand market over the coming months, the Legend 2 looks like a very well refined version with a much better screen/layout/usability.  Doesn't have any giant leaps like the first edition, we saw that with ML also on their second edition models but a more refined product.   It should be very good other than the carbon fiber lower shaft.

Can I ask why a carbon fiber lower shaft is not a good thing Phrunt? I would have thought it would be lighter?

A fair bit of reading, mainly affects gold prospectors but also a general problem I think.

I am glad they went back to an 11" roundish coil. The depth loss on the gen 2 Legends was caused by the newer stock 12X9" coil detecting more like a 9" coil. It definitely made the Legend lighter. However, the original stock 11" heavier coil was proven over and over to be much deeper than that newer, lighter 12X9" coil.

Hopefully the advertised weight of 1.2 kg includes the stock LD28, 11" coil.  I'm pretty sure it does, but since the L2 standard package also includes the smaller LD21 small elliptical accessory coil, you just never know how much liberty Marketing will take in spinning the specs to cast the new Nokta in the best light possible.  Sorry to be so cynical, but I've found you really need to read the fine print these days as each MD manufacturer tries to outdo it's competition in terms of purported specs and performance, in what they say and, sometimes more importantly, in what they don't say and leave up to end user interpretation or conjecture.

They haven't been reading the Steve G news releases!  (btw What are the lower shafts for the 3030 and 7000 made of?)

Thanks so much Phrunt. That's my reading for the morning in between serving customers. 👍

The detectors don't react to those shafts even though Carbon fiber, just not sensitive enough I guess, The 6000 mildly reacts to its shaft as does the Algoforce, VLF's like the Legend 2 and other SMF higher frequency detectors that we already have available do quite severely.

Anybody notice that this new detector comes with 2 coils, BT headphones AND probably wont fall over just  by staring at it? Plus, probably less than half the $$ of a Gold Monster 2000. The lessons that Minelab refuse to learn.
