Good going Compass, hope you nail the chain too! 😉

Now that is how discrimination should be used. Well done.🤑

Thanks geof, It seems counterintuitive but with the price of gold being so high, finding modern clad coins has become less of a priority, especially in areas where target recovery is more diffcult and time-consuming. At first, it was hard to pass up known money since that used to be the goal.

Yet another outstanding hunt for you Compass, inland places are the place to be this summer. 🙂 I'm at an East coast beach this week and it's "slim pickings", the storms along the Atlantic Coast did more damage than good.

The prior inland campground produced better finds.

Love that you show the trash, it really lends a feel to how tough water hunting can be. 🏆

Thank you F350Plat, When the beaches are producing they can't be beat but when they are not it can make for some pretty uneventful hunts. When I go to my lakes I feel that I have a decent chance of finding something good. My lakes are trashy, have poor visibility or are hard to dig (sometimes all 3) which may discourage some hunters. Yes, water hunting can be tough but patience and a good game-plan can be pretty rewarding.

Truly outstanding!   Good job.🫡

Thanks ColonelDan, The year started off slowly for detecting finds but the last couple of months have been surprisingly good. I guess you just never know when your luck is going to change.

Thanks hermit, The odds are probably against me but even if I don't find that chain I may find something else nice.

Congrats! When targets are abundant, as evidenced by your many pull tabs, I always avoid digging high conductors, if it's an area where gold might be found. If targets are few and far between,  then I dig those high numbers too, if nothing else, gives your swinging shoulder a break!

Thanks 1491, Exactly how I do it at the beach with my TDI BeachHunter and now the lakes with the Manticore. This particular lake has lots of targets but others with less targets I may dig it all. It also depends on how hard it is to dig.

Nice hunt George! You definitely earned that gold, look at all those pull-tabs!

Thank you Dave, Yes, much different than hunting the wet sand at the beach where most of the lightweight trash has been washed away.
