I can't imagine the need for it to be putting around the Australian gold fields.

  • The title was changed to Keep The Opposition Off Your Patch

There are drone-droppable EMP devices also being developed for use in Ukraine. The size of a brick and can wipe out all electronics within a 1km area. Just keep your detector, radio, phone and GPS in a faraday bag and set it off....voila!....no competition on your patch!

Or just use the old method which was deployed yrs ago and set up fake claim signs. Was a very popular tactic used here in Vic. Especially when the SD2000 hit.

Though it probably would be much less effective these days as nobody respects private property let alone a stake with a metal sign on it!

Last time I saw a claim application sign, it was being used to cook some burgers and snags on a campfire!

For years I hunted with a big black werewolf named Wally. Half lab half Rottweiler. He was chief of security with a jurisdiction a half mile from any spot I was standing.

Detectors would automatically shut down and remove themselves from the area he patrolled. He had big white teeth that put out electromagnetic waves spoiling the fun for anyone he wasn't familiar with.

His sophisticated circuitry was packed into 90 pounds of solid muscle that flew across the desert at low altitude toward any bearded object emitting eddy currents. He was the most efficient anti-prospecting device ever invented.

On a few occasion some prospectors with no sense of keeping a reasonable distance clear of me, when I'm detecting, were moved on by keeping pushing the tuning button which cycled my frequency to make them back off, while I pretended that I had no interference. 😁

There is a simple raspberry pi setup that can tell if someone is following you. Left hidden on site with enough juice to keep running, could tell if someone has been on the site and possibly get further information. It tracks the phone. If someone is following with their phone on or comes on your site.

Developed by Matt Edmondson is a digital forensics expert and federal agent with the Department of Homeland Security.
