Carbon Fiber Telescopic Rod For White's XLT and DFX?

Has anyone mounted the Display box and the control box on a carbon fiber telescopic shaft? The weight and convenience advantages of being telescopic would be obvious. 

I'm working for it for my Minelab Explorer II and I'd like to read some example.
