No one yet knows the performance of the GM2000, wait until it's released and you'll get far better feedback.  Your ground is a lot like mine

Getting back to the GB2 ... the cost of it is what, 1/4th of a GM2000?

I have friends of mine who have been using the GB2 for years.  One of them just found a 5.8g nugget in the last couple of weeks!  Another one with a modded GB2 can find pieces the size of the 2000 but it does not handle the ground like the SMF GM2000.  I'll be surprised if either friend will switch from GB2 to a GM2000.  They didn't switch for the GM1000!

@mn90403 you are right. Average price for used, good condition analog GB2’s is around $450, 23% the cost of a GM2k. In fact, there’s two good ones for sale, one by a well known dealer and the other in the DP classifieds right now - here and here.   Seems like a no brainer if you are like myself and not able to go detecting that often.

We say that the stick has 2 ends.. like goldmonster 2K (multi 12-75 khz)..in order of, for example, even bigger gold...? there should be a certain advantage over GB2..

I wonder how the (Edit: Gold Monster 2000) compares with a Manticore? I was pretty happy on my first day out with Manty when she found two little sub-gram bits! -uh, don’t tell my wife!  😉

That is another detector an avid GB2 user has avoided.  It is only 3X the cost!  I've seen that most people with 'old' technology are keeping it in my club.  I'm an aberration by keeping up with things.

Oh, I meant a comparison between the Manticore and the Gold Monster 2000. But I’d think the Gold Bug 2 would get much smaller gold than what a Manticore can do, at least it seems to be more sensitive to the little pieces I have when I air tested it.

I was hoping this new GM2K is at least as good as my previous older Gold Bug 2's. From what Aureous and others have said so far on the forums it seems the Gold Monster 2000 is better in most respects than the older gold bug 2 would that be correct to say?  I really like the timings aspect, low hz audio for hot rocks, etc. Sounds like we may be able to shorten time between targets considerable over the old Gold Bug 2?? I already own the new Gold Monster 2000 but with winter and bad weather doubt I will get to use it much before spring.
