Very nice. Never give up on a good old site.  I almost mirrored you this evening on my favorite old tough house site.  First Silver, a fancy pocket knife cover marked Sterling. About 4 inches deep, surrounded by small nail bits. Did not sound very nice, just enough there to be something.

Excellent condition for the dime! They don't come out of the ground much better than that. I feel most at home when I'm hunting a location like that! Unless the location is high traffic, you will often find older coins such as this at lesser depth. It always rewards to dig all poorly sounding signals in older locations. Multiple generation sites build up quite the amount of fragmented iron. It's also a good idea to put your frame of mind back to the early inhabitants and try to think as they did. For example, long ago I was hunting an old picnic grove and decided to investigate an 8 ft. diameter slight ground depression thinking it could have been a ride such as merry-go-round of sorts. Two "Seated" quarters from the 1850's was my reward.

That's a great hunt right there, congrats on the silver. I don't envy you digging in all those roots but I'd do it for those fancy buttons!

In the rare times I get to hunt a nice obstruction free place, I always think of you @F350Platinum😁
