I'm a bit of a tragic for these sorts of TV Shows, I enjoy them for entertainment value, although very aware as someone that looks for gold what you see isn't what you get.   I have my doubts this one will have the viewer success Aussie Gold Hunters has, but you never know, either way, looking forward to watching it and having a bit of an idea what it's like looking for gold in JP's turf.  Probably great news for his shop with all the extra "want to get rich quick" people it will bring along.

"Gold Wars Downunder "

We finnally put the last nail in the coffin yesterday on filming at Clermont Queensland

Not just another gold show this 1st series is raw and real and trust me it lives up to it's name.

A look into the real dealings happening on the Clermont Gold Fields

An A&E Production shot by Fredbird Entertainment will air in 2026 on the History Channel and others across Europe and a free to air in Australia (channel unknown)

Dennis and Donnie would like to thank Brad Cone and the film crew for all of their hard work on long hot days to get this done.

Hopfully we will see you guys next year back filming season two.

  • The title was changed to New Prospecting TV Show From JP's Town

Bit like most Fishing shows, just continue to pull fish out of the water, I want to know what rig they are using, why this and not another set up, what bait and why, why this location.

And re Gold Shows, with the few I have watched, some operators have a good technique in finding the signal, others sloppy,, coils not close to the ground, swinging to fast, 2 team members sharing a detector (each with a detector doubles the chance of finding a patch/piece, but 1 detector may make better TV) with little or no discussion on why they have chosen this location, ( ground/vegation/rocks/water run off/nearby old mine shaft)

Bit like Football, I cannot watch the Crows ( South Oz, Australian Rules Football Team) to see highly paid footballers miss easy Goals... why don't they practice more.

I didnt mind the first couple of seasons of Aussie gold...back when it was mostly bush detecting.

The moment it all became about scraping, dry blowing, wet plants etc, it became a monotonous series of "Oh no, the machine has stopped working, what are we going to do?!!" "If we cant get this dozer running, that will be the end of our season and I wont be able to feed the family"....

Unwatchable now.

Why aren’t JP and Reg on the show? 😉

That would make it a DRAMA program!
