I doubt Reg would make much of an actor.

Struth, some of you blokes come up with some silly stuff some times. I'm sure that JP would agree with me that to be involved in such 'entertainment' does nothing for ones credibility or integrity. JP has built his reputation as one who truly knows his craft and product, and really has no need for whatever reason to be involved in such 'true life drama'. I have already been approached some time ago about being involved in a 'gold themed show' but could not be bothered.

I didn't say it wouldn't be HIGHLY rated.  I think it would and I encourage both of them to do one together or separately.  I'd watch every episode more than once.

Reg, good on both of you for not succumbing to the world of fake drama. It's hard enough these days to get reliable advice and information about this amazing hobby.

Even gold found photos posted all over social media are not what they used to be, cleaned bits of gold carefully located around branding logos or on screens for maximum detector marketing effect, and worded as they were just found and it's a photo on the day in the field with some nice gold looking ground as the backdrop.  Perfect lighting and angles.  Some of these "entertainment* shows are likely more real than some of these marketing photos, of course there is a blitz of them at the moment with a new detector on the market.

I like the rushed bit blurry from the finders shaking with excitement hands dirty bit of gold sitting on their dirty coil or in the scoop taken with a dusty lens from their phone being on their pocket full of pellets.... you know, a real photo.

You can also tell the fake ones by how pretty and clean their hands are! 😉

Okay guys, as I sit here in Montana thru the winter and cannot detect for gold thru the snow,

I don't mind a little foolishness in the outback of Australia.  I've enough detecting and finding gold to know when the results are fake or not time-true.  I spend far more time researching

next summer's adventures anyway.

Remember, we all used to watch cartoons and nobody seemed judge us for that.

I didnt mind the first couple of seasons of Aussie gold...back when it was mostly bush detecting.

The moment it all became about scraping, dry blowing, wet plants etc, it became a monotonous series of "Oh no, the machine has stopped working, what are we going to do?!!" "If we cant get this dozer running, that will be the end of our season and I wont be able to feed the family"....

Unwatchable now.

Yes, Shades of Alby Mangels from the 1970's & 80's there with that blonde sheila with the big hooters standing out front holding a pan full of gold. Remember when we used to have Alby and his mate standing looking straight up at you from the bottom of a cliff face "Wow, what do ya think might be up there mate?"   -Well Alby, maybe it's the camera man and the bloke holding the boom mic?...........🙄
