  • The title was changed to I Have Resorted To Swearing Underwater.....

Thats a good first outing! Any ring is a good sign I think, when you are finding those..... gold is near.

I've said this before, with the price of gold jumping .. that will derail even more young couples into buying non-gold wedding rings. Those junk rings have already made a dent in fresh drop hunters gold counts, couple more generations and gold will be something of the past.

Don't you just love those deep targets that push the limits of the water levels. I wonder how many were gold that I have walked away from for safety reasons.

Wait! That’s not all, another metal I’ve worked with!  Never thought I’d see jewelry made from these metals.

Just think, in a few more years beaches will be littered with exotic aerospace metals that didn’t fall from the skies!

Hahaha Joe......gold is near and laughing at me probably. Stainless rings are easy to spot straight away and I can identify the Tungsten ones that first look like white 18K easily now.....they are like a "darker white gold" and that slight tinge of grey gives them away but in low light conditions then not so easy. Tungsten and gold have about the same specific gravity of 19.3 as well. The price of gold needs to drop otherwise it's more of these same cheap junk rings.

.......but if digging Tungsten is the worst problem in my life then I have little to complain about really 🙂

Any Titanium rings yet?

Yep......dug this one about a week ago. Impossible to know the 18K gold content from the Titanium.

But I sure as heck am counting it as a "gold find"....only with Joe's approval 🤔

I used to dig loads of silver rings and I cursed at those back in the day.......even silver is rare these days.

Just Googled this ring.....it's a junker. 18K gold plated rubbish. You can buy them for about $20. Gold tally has been cut by one. They come pre-engraved with "I love you".......sheeesh.

I didn't plan on hunting the deeper water but ended up there for some reason and continued because of the rings......I wasn't wearing my weight belt and I can tell you that trying to get leverage on the scoop whilst wearing a full wetsuit is quite a challenge...in fact, I resorted to emptying my lungs completely and sinking down in order to get some body weight onto the scoop......more underwater swearing was generated here as well. I am thinking of updating my other thread about essential beach and water hunting accessories to include one of these...
