Hello from Mohave County Arizona.
New member looking to be blessed with tips and tricks from those with far greater knowledge than I have in an effort to speed up the process, thereby bending the learning curve in my favor. One of the first things I’m hoping to figure out as a new guy just starting, should I start with the new Gold Monster 2000 or since Garrett is offering their Cyber25 deal should I purchase their Axiom Lite and a used Gold Master 1000 which would be the same price as a GM2000. That way I have both a VLF and PI detector?

Keep in mind I’m new at this, Mohave County supposedly has a lot of mineralized ground. but when looking at pricing and watching video’s it seems those who are successful own both PI and VLF machines. Also keep in mind I wouldn’t know which one to use anyway, but am willing to put the time in to learn. FYI I’m retired, so have plenty of time and don’t get frustrated easily. So I’m not worried about the learning process.

Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.

Have a safe and happy holiday season

I started looking for gold 13 years ago.  I started with a VLF and later on I realized that I needed to add a PI.  With hind sight I wish that I had bought a good PI first as the primary nugget detector and then got a VLF later for specialized tasks.  If you can get an Axiom and a GM1000 then do that, but in my opinion getting a PI is the priority and then you can always wait for the inevitable price drop on the GM1000 that will happen since the GM2000 is out now.
