Hello Phrunt. I haven't noticed anything from you on the 2k. Didn't you pre order one so you must of had it for a while now? Skiing has been over for a while.

yea, I've only had a few hours on it mucking about and trying things out, no serious effort put into using it yet  looking for gold as I've had a bit of a medical issue holding me up.  Things are coming right so I should be using it properly in a week or so now.   From what I've seen thus far I don't think anyone in mild soils is missing much by not owning one if they have a Nox or Manticore.

D4G that's a great little pick tool for cracks and crevices, what is it and where can I get one?

Another Aussie one here - available in 6mm and 3mm thickness. I've got the 6mm and it works a treat.

Hi Phrunt. Sorry to hear that. Hope nothing to serious or long term. Good you are coming right. I have been waiting to hear a report from you on the 2k. A report I can value as we are same country & same mild conditions. As you eluded to results can be quite different from overseas.

Sorry to jump in, and good evening everyone. I saw the tool that dig4gold posted, and I wanted to say that here in the Italian Apennines we use something very similar — even though we’re not hunting for gold nuggets.

The one I use is the one in the photo, made by Beta. It’s a classic hooked tool, and we use it when searching in karst uplands, where coins get wedged between rocks. With it you can widen the cracks or lightly chip the stone so you can pull the coin out.

Interesting to see the similarities, even if we’re talking about a completely different kind of search. Sorry for the off-topic.
