So if this is good business practice for Nuggetfinder to totally not sell to the USA market,  how long will it before Coiltek follows suit. That leaves the USA with no options than to use the inferior made stock Minelab coils. And coil making is not their strong suit. Well, I'm glad I already have the aftermarket coils for the 6k and 7k.

Its not really a big deal to call up Reeds in AU and just order a Nugget Finder coil.  Does it cost a little more? Of course.  But mostly in shipping. But the shipping as of late isnt bad and its been hitting our doors in around 10-14 days. Some times less.  The cost is minimal per price of gold these days. One 1/2 gram nugget pretty much handles it.   I wont be panicking much at this time. Seems silly if its a tool like a NF that's gonna earn you alot more wages to not just absorb the cost and keep moving forward.

My thoughts too,  I went ahead and bought a 10x5 Coiltek for my 6000 a few weeks back and am now wondering if I should by another in a different size.

Which do you have for your 6000?

That was my theory, it's all too hard to worry about for the volume of coils sent to USA, how many realistically do you think were sent to USA each month? Perhaps it was done in a batch every 6 months, but really, very small volumes.  NF sells a majority of their coils to the local market.    I'm guessing a trickle went to USA.  NF are very busy catering to the local market, they can't pump out coils near as quickly as Coiltek can, so it's no major loss to them.  It's hard enough for locals to buy stock.

For those in the USA wanting them there is always a way, someone iin Australia or elsewhere with access to them will see the window of opportunity and sell them on Ebay or somewhere similar targeting USA customers or going to dealers in other countries that ship to USA.  I know the NZ dealer ships to USA and they don't charge the local tax to international orders.  The Aussie dealers still seem to charge GST when I buy off them so NZ maybe a cheaper option depending on shipping costs.  The downside of course is warranty, if something goes wrong, you're sending it back to Australia at your cost and having it returned at your cost also.

Despite the controversy about Nugget Finder's decision not ship coils to us (the U.S.), etc. I am fully behind Rohan's less than ten-person operation. Their coils have been at the top of the heap for decades. If I have to send to Australia for my next NF coil,
I will happily do it.

Happy Holidays to everyone, especially Nugget Finder 😉

The NF Xceed coils look really good for the GPX6000. However, $550 coil, plus $55 tariff plus another 1 to 2 % for previous import tax plus elevated shipping costs to the USA from Australia for that coil would have to be nearly $100 US for shipping.

You miss two things, One, all companies have the same tariff, so competition is only against the very few companies in the US that make coils. Two, no one is going to convince me that any company cannot make money on coils at Half the price Minelab and Exceed are charging.  Bottom Line -- if they stay in business it makes no sense to exclude the US market.

All pulse induction coil making companies do not have the same tariff.

All Australian coil makers have the same tariffs when deciding to sell to the USA. Minelab/Codan has corporate offices and a distribution network in the USA and technically their coils are made in Malaysia. Coiltek and Nugget Finder are totally Australian.

Coiltek and Nugget Finder coils have always been expensive here in the USA. Nothing new there.

XP had to go through court arbitration to get their 50% tariff on copper wired coils reduced to 15%. They have begun selling coils again here in the USA. They are absorbing 5% of that tariff and raised the price of their coils 10% to cover the rest.

Maybe a really small family owned company like Nugget Finder will decide to do that too or maybe not.

I think its a temporary situation that will probably be smoothed out as transitioning policies get solidified and positions are stabilized. In other words once the mixture clears the paths will be apparent. Just keep the hope alive people!
