  • The title was changed to Error Sound SDC 2300

Let us know the details of the "sound problem" and we can help.  The SDC2300 is a very popular machine.

The sound appears to be too repetitive to be EMI and I assume that you know that the detector will make noise when inside your home or other nearby electronic devices including cell phones sometimes.

The sound is almost like an ALARM type sound but I don't remember if the 2300 has any alarms for low battery or something else.

Have you checked the battery charge level using following procedure?

To check your battery level, follow the steps
below:
1. Press and hold the Noise Cancel button.
2. Press and release the Threshold button.
The Noise Cancel button can now be
released.
3. An indication of battery charge will be
displayed by the LEDs for approximately
three seconds.

I used to have a SDC 2300 but I don't have it anymore so I can only go by memory.  It is a simple and robust detector so I am not sure what your audio problem can be but maybe someone else on this forum has better information.

It's worth checking your battery connections, especially if you have the older battery model as they had bad connection problems, if the new lthium version not so much a problem but it's likely you either have a faulty coil or faulty detector.  Probably best to get it checked by Minelab.

I would send a short email and the link to that recording to Minelab Australia customer support.
