I found this guy's video interesting, and the most interesting thing is he points out the normal scoops don't work well with the 5" coil, and he's right, he has a flat bottomed Minelab scoop that works well for it, I think I recall getting one with my GM1000 and no idea where I put it but I'll have to track it down, the design of the coil doesn't leave a lot of room for a full size scoop.

It shows it working very nicely on his soil, all his nuggets finds look basically surface finds but still, it's running well for him, a guy that generally doesn't like VLF's has decided he likes the GM2000.  I couldn't agree more about his Coiltek 10x5" thoughts, a real weapon for the 6000.

I had motion sickness trying to watch it. 😆Where's the Advil?

yea, it's not one of the flashy edited marketing videos that are all over the place already about the GM2000, more of a raw this is what I'm seeing with the detector type video, I never bother with the marketing ones.

Hi mate, the only videos I see are here. Saw enough to convince me not all you see is real on youtube. Iv not searched any for ages. Planted targets, air tests, coils swung all wrong, detector compared with totally different shaped coils trying to prove one machine is better than the other, sucking up to manufacturers for freebies. Nah, don't bother with videos, not a fan of the look at me generation. I think I may be a grumpy old man! 😄

Agreed-especially the guys that just talk  about how good it is and what they found without showing any REAL live digs or goods-its amazing what a free machine does to people 😕

Simon,

Good video.  I just don't need to read the comments first.

He did show how he 'worked' his patch with the previous coils.  As the coils got smaller he continued to find more pieces until he is now down to the .6g with the GM2000.  It shows that you can't get it all but it also shows how we detectorists keep going back to our same patches over and over again.  The 'glory days' aren't coming back to his patch, many of my patches and some of yours as well.  That should be the expectation on a well flogged area.  Previous detectors were good and you don't know how many times they have been detected.

No doubt the GM2000 would have found all of the gold on his patch if not previously found as I didn't see any deep dig holes.  He's now ok with being a crumb hunter and I would be too if it is the only game left.  I guess it's time to move some dirt and rocks before someone else does that too.

There is still a bit of time in the game for those in the know.  I've got friends who are still finding multiple ounces a year but that is down from their peaks also.

This guy is not playing around, but his head is definitely working well.. I like his review... very nice systematic procedure of replacing different coil sizes in the GPX 6000 and finally evaluating the detection results, which is the number, also the total weight and depth of the targets that they brought.. during the detection time... I will say really good statistics of the results... And finally... Gold Monster 2K.. with its results it also fit in well... and found other targets that the GPX 6K did not see../
Detection terrain maybe Hematite/Maghemite,,, with stones.. that may indicate why the GM2K is successful here..

Yea, that's a very good solution, I do that with the Axiom when I can, not always easy on a steep slope though.   Beneficial when you can do it as you get the best of the coil to find tiny bits like in your photo.  That's a nice little bit of gold, it's great the GM's helping find these little tiddlers in hot soils.

I used to get laughed at for showing off my little tiddlers, now the Aussies are all proudly showing them off now they can find them thanks to the GM2000 🙂
