Pretty awesome Shootin' there, NC!

I'm thinking about 80-100 coins?

Shame the ring is a little jacked, looks old. A Ring mandrel might help.

Congrats! Looks like a Find-a-minute hunt. I love those. 🏆

Thanks!   It was about a 5 1/2 hour hunt, so not a coin a minute lol.

That’s a serious amount of digging for one day!  At least you paid for your gas money…

Thanks.  It only takes around $25 to fill up my prius and that park is about 6 miles from home so 12 mile round trip at 50 mpg.  So well less than $1 to drive there and back.

A Prius is a boon for urban prospectors. I got an old Prius because my daughter was driving my car so much I was stuck at home. I intended to sell the Prius when I got my SUV back, it was supposed to be a temporary beater car. Still driving it, sold the suv.

I do not think I am going to be able to wear it out so I can get a new one.

Is great for remote goldfields too. With the short wheelbase they actually do pretty good off road on decent dirt roads. Just have to do a little occasional roadwork and watch for bigger rocks. Never had to re-align the wheels. The big problem was climbing with the FWD. I would have to go up the steeper hills backwards. The newer AWD would work good.

I've since traded up to a RAV4 AWD hybrid that I can pull 38 mpg out of with no headwind. The electric drive rear axle is torquey at low speeds and works great for climbing the steep stuff. Just have to take it easy due to the unibody design. The older Ravs are good but get half the mileage of a prius.

Good to know. I have found the little car quite capable in the snow as well. It is surprisingly so since it appears to have so little clearance, but it turns out to be an excellent winter car. Good heater even. The SUV I traded out was a RAV which are lovely vehicles too, I test drove some of the hybrid versions but had grown so fond of the little car for my urban environment, I just kept it.

I have no need for anything more capable than the Prius, and have grown to love that gas mileage and maneuverability. It squeezes into very small parking spaces. It is perfect for going detecting in little neighborhood parks where there is a lot of low speed stop and go driving. Carries quite a lot of gear too.

Perfect detecting transport.
