Had not seen it yet, thanks for putting it out there MN. Looks like a reasonable price for the package. Hard to tell what performance difference there is from what has been put forward so far, but it is lighter. I am guessing the weight of the new coils might have shaved some of the weight off which would be a good thing for balance. Not enough better than the Legend 1 to be worth a grand for me to upgrade at this point and I am not wanting to give up the LG15 coil, but it looks like more of the good value and good performance Nokta is known for.

Waiting to see what the Goldex turns out to be more than this one. I love the Gold Racer and the Goldfield program on the Legend, so I am more than curious what the Goldex might be. Who knows when that will be or what.

I posted this last month in Jeff's Legend 2 test thread, also.

It's also listed in the DP Detector Database here:

BTW - I don't think the DP Detector Database gets the love and attention it deserves.  Steve keeps it constantly updated with verified information from multiple sources.

Nokta Score models are missing from the Detector Database and this Nokta detector topic area

I really wish them the best, they seem to be the only manufacturer that understands Value and Quality, and if they master the technologies they could easily be the top dog, they are already competitive in tech and way ahead in price and quality.!

Once they Reverse Engineer the GM2000 and any new GPZ 7000 replacement they will be hard to stop.

I think they'd be offended you think they just reverse engineer competitor's machines to make their own.  Sure, they do make them very similar, and often with the same features, many thought the Legend was a copy of the Equinox with Noikta's own twiist on it.  Why would it not be though? The features are required features to be a top tier detector, there was a shift in the look of Nokta machines and likely for the better, a weight reduction, all good traits to have.   There was a court case by Minelab of a parent infringement on one of their "lets patent everything we can to try prevent competitors" for some very old parent that appears it went nowhere from what I can see although I'm no expert, it hasn't stopped them selling Legends, it didn't stop them making the Legend 2 based off the offending Legend.

Nokta make better quality machines than competitors, that has become pretty clear over time, they're ahead when it comes to waterproofing too and I don't believe they are copycats or thieves of software to make their machines.  I look forward to the Legend 2 release, I don't think I'll be buying one, more interested in their PI when it eventually comes to market to see what they've achieved there as that's more likely a machine I'd buy.

I do think a fair few manufacturers were looking at the Teknetics T2 and Fisher Gold Bug Pro code the Chinese seemed to be able to replicate and reverse engineer though, and maybe it was the starting point of a few brands.  Certainly not saying Nokta is in this club, no idea but a lot of generic detectors are now running various modifications of this code, it would be hard not to have a peep at it as an engineer if its floating around. 😉

The truth is ALL manufacturers Reverse Engineer to one extent or another, it would be dumb not to if they think a competitor may have an edge in knowhow on a similar product they produce. Nokta is learning, and at some point may surpass all those they have learned from.  The Real Question is who will make the Big Breakthrough in something other than known Electromagnetics, perhaps a Radar Hybrid or a new physics found using Ai..!
