  • The title was changed to XP Live Event Tomorrow - "Multiprocessing Audio Morphing"?

the headphones will be so you can hear the stereo properly, they'll be playing some audio from the Deus 2 showing the benefit of it, interesting concept though, you would think something that's been around for years, yet it's not.

They are calling it two detectors in one, but that's a little bit of marketing.  But it's close as what you are now able to do is process and run two D2 programs simultaneously (or more precisely, process the same "program"  two different ways simultaneously) and decide how to balance the audio from those 2 "programs" in two audio channels (stereo right and left).  There are adjustments on left- right balance and then there are audio enhancements/effects that can be applied to specific ferrous and non-ferrous target types and perceived target depth. Note that there are practical limitations - for example FMF Max has to be the same because that is set by coil transmission.  But all Program downstream target processing features can be set independently on each channel (audio type, sensitivity, reactivity, disc/AM, iron volume).  BTW All Metal (AM) is a non-motion AM mode which means you get true stereo dual mode audio (great!).  The V4 control panel graphic screenshot below illustrates this level of control.

XP says V4 will be available for download on January 23.  You will need the new Stereo H/P hardware to take full advantage of the multiprocessing features.

Seems like user input audio overload could be a factor but something you could eventually train your brain and adapt to it.

For me it is really something that will potentially help to speed up iffy target dig decisions because you can potentially skip switching between Program A vs. B for target interrogation.  The target type specific audio FX feature is also compelling.

It's interesting- we'll soon see how effective it really is.

Has there been any mention of how the MI-4/6 will be handled? I was thinking about that today. 🤔 The MI-6 is hands down my favorite pinpointer, but only when paired with the D2.

I hope I can combine Relic mode in ch1 and lets say general in channel 2 with the same freq Max of 24khz 😁

Your drawing is pretty accurate.  Looking at the Multiprocess menu settings screenshot I think its really two versions of the same program processed two different ways simultaneously. I modified my post accordingly.  I wanted to do exactly what you proposed (Relic + General) but its more like Relic ver A on Channel A and Relic Ver B on Channel D.  Also, per the video, Channel 2 can only be OFF, All Metal, or DISC (which is basically two-tone only).
