@Ridge Runner   Chuck, I know what your thinking.   I haven't used the Tarsacci on this site yet, but I defiantly will after we get some rain.  The ground there is a yellow/grey gumbo clay that has very little mineral content, dry it is very benign but when moist/wet it becomes very conductive, and normal detectors can have a difficult time running stable & deep. Next hunt, should be prime time for the strength of the Tarsacci to shine through as we are suppose to get some nice rain soon.

So far, I have only used the Legend some, but mostly the Rutus Versa. Both of these units can also handle the conductive ground quite well if need be.

Congratulations JCR! 🏆🥳

A truly awesome find!

I really love to see Spanish silver. Tried to figure out what the other artifact is, but it's small so it may have been a hair thing.

JCR,, I also like to see Spanish silver,,, I also like lead...
Yes,, multifrequency with terrain conductivity elimination...is a good recipe for finding other mostly deep targets..
I expect you used the low reactivity setting for deep detection...

Many Reales were holed as well as early American silver coins. I've seen caches of coins that all had small holes and appear to have been strung with string as the help or cotton had decayed away. Pockets were sewn usually by hand and tended to develop holes often, thus the "stringing." Folks including men did carry coin purses.
