Thanks Jim for the story. It’s nothing like brotherly love.

So Jim -you forgot to mention how you got  your nick name Snake Jim 😋

In 1990 myself and two partners were in Arizona prospecting near Wickenberg. One of my partners was a school teacher and taught Earth Science at a mid school in Albuquerque New Mexico. He brought along a video camera to show his students the desert flora and fauna. We were walking up an arroyo and there were piles of rocks that the old timers had pitched out to get to the gold underneath them. One of the piles of rocks had rattler in it. I told my buddy to run back to the jeep and get his camera. As he was filming, I took a stick and lifted the rattler out of the rocks. My other partner said "What the heck is Rattlesnake Jim gonna do with it now?" The nickname stuck to this day and when anyone has problems with rattlesnakes they call me. My friends around town usually just call me snake or rattlesnake, cause I'm the meanest and orneriest old fart west of the Pecos River.

I’ve been told that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and like said that’s a good looking dog you got there. Here I am got a face only a mother could love. I need to remember he who lives in glass house shouldn’t throw rocks.

Jim you living the dream that a lot of us would like to live. If it was me out there and I would die it would take the mortician three days to get the smile off my face.

 The best to you.

Thanks Chuck for the kind words! I know how you feel. I was out yesterday with my dog and a smile on my face. I took a couple of fellows that had not been in this area before, and we spent the day sampling a few areas I'd been thinking of staking new claims. We also met up with a couple of other new prospectors. I enjoy helping others get started in prospecting and mining. It was a great day for sure! I'm still smiling!
