So I hated to pay $30 CDN for six of these protectors because  the last two each came off after a week  or so of deep  water use.  I got one of those  full face stick  on covers.  Useless although  I treated the surface with alcohol it leaked  and  had water impairing my view of the screen.  So now Im back  to  M/L product but the first try (cleanse  with alcohol on a microfiber cloth) is full of  dust bit and corners beginning to lift.  Anyone  have  success with these?  The reality is that my screen is getting scratched because I put my faith in these crappy protectors which are now swimming in the ocean.  I've always had  better luck custom cutting cell phone covers. Picture shows after trying to run the bubbles out with a purpose-made rubber squeege.

  • The title was changed to Manti Screen Protector Install

I have used Zagg products for years and they are excellent in preventing scratches on the screen. I used the factory screen saver as a template and cut to fit. The packets comes with a wetting solution, squeegee  and a micro fiber cloth. Since the Manticore screen is recessed, I buy the vinyl pad covers and they do the trick protecting the rest of the faceplate. I bought both on Ebay.

Bought this recently to replace the original Minelab screen protector, thought I'd give matte a go, just trim it to size using the old protector:

I ordered a model specific matte screen from the UK, but never got it. Also a tempered glass one which I did get but haven't used. I was getting tired of all the glare. At first I thought it didn't work well, but the matte has worked great here in Sunny Florida.

And like Dan, I use the button protectors as well:manticorecamo.thumb.png.e7415e4db3e0ac3f14426e62491ce334.png

I like camo.

With matte you do have to turn your backlight up a bit which uses battery.

Here it is after about 15 days of constant use in the ocean and multiple washes:

That's what it looks like in indirect sun.

Dan,  How do you cut yours?  I tried to cut a different brand that must be Poly with sharp shears & it just cracked to pieces.

The Zaggs I use are a film, I use sharp scissors or a fresh razor blade. The trick is getting the film positioned correctly by making sure to wet the screen completely and the adhesive side of the Zagg.

Hey thanks for your reply Dan.  I know you've been at it a while and know all the tricks.  Ya the Zagg products are good and  to use  the M/L product as a template is a good idea--if you can  keep one lol.  Didn't have  much luck  with my face plate cover purchase though it shippeld  water to in front of  the screen and tore when I tried to peel it for a re-install.  The Zagg products are for sure a good solution--thanks!
