Well that’s wild, seems like only minutes after I posted. Did I make that happen?  Good news Simon, the more the merrier. It will be interesting to see what E1500 bare detector plus shipping plus coil plus battery actually ends up costing here. Odd none of those dealers have sales pages up yet, so maybe they don’t know?

the Algoforce website shows $1,650 usd

Add $50 shipping, $250 coil, $50 battery and you are looking at about same price as a Garrett Axiom. Alex really missed the bus not getting these here 6 months ago, well before the Axiom price decrease. The never ending story in this industry is missed opportunities due to bad timing. At the end of the day I’m not brand loyal and only care about competition that benefits us, the end user, so again, great news. Now if Nokta would reveal what they have. The big missing ingredient still with both Axiom and AlgoForce E1500 is being waterproof. If Nokta comes in with comparable performance in a fully waterproof package at $2000, then the heat will really be on. Frankly, for my purposes, that’s the detector I really want, something I can nugget hunt either one day, and use with mask and snorkel at the beach the next day. Even the Fisher project is not 100% dead yet, so who knows. Fingers crossed.

Maybe Garrett knew?

Of course they knew Algoforce was coming, and Nokta also. Clearly a move on their part to head off the competition and take advantage of the Minelab price increases. But if Alex had acted faster he could have been here before they really knew it. He gave them tons of extra time to react and I expect now his impact in the US market to be far smaller than it might have been, especially as Garrett has the home town advantage with in country service. Whatever, water under the bridge, and welcome at any point in time.

It's great seeing competition in PI's, we are seeing the shift VLF's have had over the past few years, high performance at lower prices, and this is just the beginning.  We have Nokta to come yet and they promise to do just that and Algoforce won't be stopping at the current model, I'm sure.

Minelab have been pushing up pricing as high as they could, they have some choices to make in the coming months.

Garrett's move was clearly in anticipation of the Nokta and Algoforce and they priced it to sell very well in the USA, and that's where it ends.

Is this a competition? Is hunting for flies and gold dust a priority today? strange... Real hunters are looking for nuggets and large nuggets.

I guess you are a real hunter then and the rest of us just a joke. This thread has absolutely nothing to do with hunting small gold, and is all about affordable pulse power. You are quite mistaken if you think these detectors only find small gold. Just a FYI some people hunt areas where there is no gold larger than a gram, but find enough and they do add up. Thanks for the disrespect though, really appreciate that.
