Equinox Battery Life Test

Steve, if you have a pack hooked to to detector, does this bypass the internal battery making detector run on pack current?

Even if it doesn't maybe you should consider hooking Equinox up to a 10,000 mAh pack, turn everything on and see how long the detector takes to bring the pack down to 50% charge.

Assuming you have such a pack that provides digital readout of actual charge level.

If this not practical or doable.

Try

While Equinox battery is depleted, hook a pack like above and see what percentage of the packs charge it takes to fully charge the detector's internal battery.

You can charge the detector from an external source, or you can run it while attached to an external source. You cannot do both at the same time. So if the detector is attached to a power bank and the detector is turned off, it will charge the detector. If the detector is turned on when attached to an external battery source, it will run off that source instead of the built in battery.

Power packs and runtimes are being discussed here

The full user manual says the follwing on p.8:

"If the detector is turned on during charging, the charge time will
be longer."

Which implies that you can do both at the same time - nice!

You can either run the detector from an external charging device or charge it from an external charging device, but you cannot do both at once. They are awkwardly saying that if you run the machine while attached to a charging device charging is going to take longer....... because you are running the machine and not charging it!

Don't know if anyone has noticed yet or maybe I have not seen it posted yet but the size of the EQ battery is 5000mAh, according to the machine stats.

Most charging/run batteries are over this size and I believe anything up to 22000 0r 26500mAh can be legally transported on aircraft In carry on baggage. The battery in the Equinox (5000mAh) because it is part of the machine and under the limit of 100Wh  can be transported in carry on or in checked baggage.
