Hi
I have this crystal like mineral which have been laying around, and I've tried on several occations to find out what it is, but without results. So I hope someone here can give me insight.
It's been handed over so It's not found by me in nature. I don't know if it's natural og man-made.
It is rock solid and 12 cm wide and 7cm high on average and weighs 0.47kg. It feels like an average rock considering its size and is non-magnetic.
I've speculated if it is bismuth, but from what i've seen it's not quite the same in its raw state. But I may be wrong.
Any ideas?

Thanks alot. You are spot on. It did also scratch glass. As I understand, the mineral carborundum is man-made and used in veriety of areas, especially industry.
