I've got the 14x9 " goldstalker ' blitz' series and it works very well on the E1500, bit a surprise packet really.

Ultra sensitive for its size  and nice and quiet over very hot ground just purrs along on the E1500.

I think the 'blitz' series  were the first coiltek coils to use the litz wire . They was designed specifically to be used with the gpx 5000 in fine gold.  But it's also very compatible with the E1500.

I'd imagine the coil in the photo would give similar performance.

Other coils that work well on the E1500 are the Sadie coil , 9" round coiltek elite,  12" round nuggetfinder evolution. They are the pick of the coils I've tried so far in my collection .

Thanks Ned. Will try bext week.

For anyone that's interested,  there's also a  coiltek goldstalker 14x9"  blitz coil for sale on gumtree. Looks brand new in the box, a bargain at $140. Its located in Victoria Australia.

It's one of the better coils that I've tried on the E1500.

Would you guys think this COILTEK would be ok to use on the ALGO ??

Looking back to the beginning, all good gold detectors had to have some form of ground balance - it was initially done manually by turning one or two pots, and then Minelab came out with Tracking, but the initial ground balance or Reset, like on the GT16000 was also automatic (as opposed to turning knobs), and generally faster than the slower "tracking" ground balance. At some point it was all just referred to as Auto Ground Balance, and Minelab tried to differentiate the two by calling the initial faster balance a Quick Trak. Quick Trak was trademarked, so only Minelab could use that term, so I may be wrong but I think the term GRAB first appeared on some US made detectors - basically another name for the fast auto balance or ground balance reset, (not to be confused with continual tracking).

Any method of ground balance requires you to pump the coil, but the differences are:

Turning knobs or pressing +/- keypads = Manual

    Push button = Auto

Ground balance automatically updated as you are sweeping = Tracking

So the AlgoForce has an auto ground balance or you could call it a ground grab - same feature, different name.

Thanks for that, I understand the GRAB now

Mines landed in Christchurch now, if I could I'd be driving there now to pick it up, I hate when weekends arrive right as a parcel is about to be delivered delaying it another 2 days.

I'll gradually work out ways to deal with pellets, the scrape method usually gets rid of a many, the 6000 you do a scrape not even half an inch off the surface and a soft mellow gold sounding target becomes a screamer with a pellet, the 6000 goes from next to no response on a buried pellet to screaming on it with such a little amount of soil removed its frustrating, it really doesn't have much depth on pellets unless they're bigger ones or not the older lead ones.

The GPZ with 8" is a different story going far deeper on them and makes it a bit harder but at least it does the double blip on the surface ones and the deeper ones the 6000's missing anyway.

The Algoforce might have some way to try work them out, there is usually some tell tales signs, never 100% accurate or even close but in a field of pellets anything helps.

The reason I sold my 6000 was I got sick of digging foot deep holes for a pellet. my back is not the best anymore....The gold I found with the 6000 was mostly 1 to 6 inches deep, from 0.01 to 2 grams in the Triangle, Hill End and up North Queensland. i hope this E1500 will also find that gold at little depth. Next week I will be going to flogged areas where I found a lot with my 4500 and when that finished I found the little left over ones with the 6000. Hope the E1500 will do well.
