  1. Oky I think I am left out,I thought we were comparing the 11x13s ,dd vs mono.anywhere you once promised if I remember very well ,long back and said u will give us a feed back if u are done with your family business,  sorry man I am taking this more personal because I want to prove that atx is better than the gpx on same size coil ,I have been in the hunt with gpx s at one time ,we were in a less than 50mx50m patch,13gpx and my atx ,three detectors picked nuggets, 5.4g,1.6g and 0.1g ,I picked the .1g with the atx,I liked it from then ,there for I need another coil between the two ,dd and mono but can't make my mind ,I hunt on highly mineralized soils where my VLF detectors don't work at all,

For prospecting the enclosed center mount coil swings better and is less prone to hanging up on sticks and rocks, and has improved knock resistance. I choose DD because in my opinion the ATX was designed for and is optimized for use with DD coils. You will get better ground canceling performance with the DD that basically negates the theoretical advantages of the mono coil on all but the largest targets. Plus better small gold sensitivity and the ability to use the ferrous discrimination if desired. The iron discrimination will not work with a mono coil.

I do like how the ATX folds up!

Woooow Steve do dd coils get smaller nuggets than mono coils???? Same size coils?

  3. thanks to here that

,i am not saying atx is bad(but the manufacturer s response and advertising ),it is my number one detector and i am not letting it go,i need to buy one of the coils, either dd or mono,i expected  a lot from the manufacturer.and after the realese of these two,l expected that they were going to phase out the old dd to show that ,the new one was manufactured to counter the old one,but....and ,we need videos ,and comparison amongst the 4 coils,we have a 10x12 dd,11x13 dd and mono and 15x20mono ,to me the difference is th e same here unless and until they post  field videos

@Chris,i bought it from  docculum South Africa,it is original and the first in africa kkkkkkk ,back in 2013 nov when it was realesed.atx is capable,I have used side to side with gpxs, (@one time we had 17gpx 5000 and my atx in a less than 8M radius patch) and performed good,

  4. Chuma, I guess u are in Zim, my friend I have 3 of these vlf detectors  au gold, nokta plus and x terra 705, they don't work in most of our soils, they lose depth, in such a way that they fail to detect a 0.1g on surface imagine, I will advice u to budget a bit and buy sdc 2300 it's good but on mild soils thy are good, don't be fooled by air test, they are total meaning less

  5. Garrett is really disappointing us, I bought an atx when they were released in 2013 Nov, their stock coil had a lot of issues, they never cared. Just imagine 2013!!!! They replied n 2017, with their 2 new expensive coils, (price of an AT gold detector), well currently I was hoping that they will do test and tell us the differences amongst these 3 coils, but they don't bother!!!!  Up to now in their Web site there is nothing on performance of their new coils. it seems they are concentrating on vlf detectors and for us, we just took a risk buy buying their PI detector - oh poor zimbabwean I thought Americans were far better than the Australians, now I am stating to doubt, maybe I should have gone minelab, should I buy another  coil  for atx??? (or it will b another piece of lemon  AGAIN) or just sell my atx and get  a minelab?????
