Anyone try applying toms IB and RS setting to beach hunting with beach 1 and 2? Curious if this applies to the salt water environment or if the higher recovery is needed to handle the salt minerals.

Has the thinking of iron bias evolved at all? Curious what the trade off is at default vs say 1 in beach hunting.

Have you gotten a replacement?
I have now received my replacement. Only took a few days to get it back from minelab.

I get what you mean now that you explained it in a situation where you got the machine running too hot. That and I can imagine how 5 or 2 tones would make this really frustrating. I’ve been 50 tones since the start. Only had the machine about a month so not a ton of time with it yet. Thanks!

I also find it a bit irritating that the machine wraps around in the lower gold digits.... rather than the higher digits out of my way. That means you have to play with 5 tones or 2 tones.... 50 tones seems to work better for me to ID targets from that wrap around falsing.
Can you explain this more. Over my head.

This just happened yesterday so I’m working on that. I’ll update once the dust settles.

Mine flooded too. First time in the water with it and about a month or less old since I bought it.

The quest ones check all 3 boxes for me. I just don’t like the idea that we’ve got wireless and low latency yet we can’t even take some rain or a splash for fear of ruining them.
Quest wirefree looking good. Wish there was more info out there or some reviews on them. I might go foe them. Will let you know if I do and how they hold up and perform.
Thanks.

I’ve seen the earbuds out there but not seeing headphones. I know the wireless won’t go underwater but I know plenty of times I’ve been detecting in the rain or took a rogue wave when in shallow water with the screen above water.

Is there any wireless headphones on the market that support aptx low latency codec and can take a rain shower or a splash of water?
If not, someone needs to make them.
