Well as I get more and more time with this machine I'm starting to get to a point I can set it up for different sites. Found a new site and have been picking cherries and have had some nasty signals that ended up being silver and copper and nails all in one plug.

Taking the Beast to a couple areas to hunt

What makes the Manticore great also makes it hard to learn. Sensitive to all targets. Close and deep. How can there be so many targets in the ground ! There is hope on the way. A small coil will help a lot. I am getting to old to dig all targets. So i must learn the Beast. I do like this machine and i have had a lot. It has the power. just need to control it.

  2. I also have had many detectors from Whites. I think the first was a 6000 D . I now own a V3I . Always upgraded to another Whites. First time i ever had a different brand was last year. A NOX. I still take the V out for a walk. Love both machines. The V is still a great machine and will stand it's ground by the best. To dig or walk ? It's all about info. or data. You will not beat the Whites V3I in data points.

  3. For the IN water use i get it on a straight shaft. For all beach and land S rod is much better i think. Swing a S rod detector then a straight rod. If you have to left the coil to keep it off the ground in front of you when you swing then that will put a stain on your arm is no time at all. I love the Nox. Just wish it had a s shaft. It would make a great detector much more user friendly. Just me.

  4. My soil is 50 to 65. I did a test in garden, coins 8 inches down 6 inch apart. 11 inch coil. Set sensitivity to 15 to just get a signal that targets were there. One nickel and one quarter. 0 on g.b. no signal. After g.b., was getting both signals, not great , but a signal i would have not walk by. I always G.B. Every time.
