  1. Having had and enjoyed the Deus 1 since its introduction  all its updates coils including accessory coils knowing what I know now after six months using the 2 Id personally have been happy keeping the Deus one ,

My inland set up is the Mono Hot program as per Deus1 with the Sonar right next to it so I can check a iffy signal with a bit of discrimination .

The 2 if you dive or go wading is ok but this is doable with a Deus 1 ! there's so much on the 2 which youl never use you could easy spend trip after trip changing from setting to setting there's to much useless baggage on the 2 just seemingly overcomplicated ,has my finds rate gone up against my detecting colleague who still uses Deus 1 since I've used the  2 absolutely not ,,perhaps Ive been extremely unlucky ,,been detecting since the late 70,s gone all through MF prior to the XP mono Deus 1 which was a revelation when it came out ,Deu2 was and is a monetary venture on behalf of XP because there was nowhere else to go IMO ,what's next 🤔

I just got my Deus with both HF coils. Is there any reason other than coverage I would want the 13" coil? I hear it's pretty nose heavy and I'm thinking the HF coils are so amazingly sensitive and deep I probably would never have a use for the 13" right?

Wrong big time ,,if you use the HF coil as your primary coil ,your finds rate will drop,, HF coils are sensitive to very small surface and shallow  targets ,Im in the UK i compared a nine inch HF coil with the nine inch stock coil , ie, 40 hours out in the field ,, with my detecting colleague ,,,and my findings were,, there was nothing that I found using the nine inch HF that a nine inch standard coil would not find .

13 inch X 11 coil is heavy and you will need an after market block to centralise the coil to the shaft, which makes it even heavier ,if you measure the curcumferance of the  13 x 11 using the ellipse  formula theres not much differece to the 11 inch round coil..

Minelab's not messing around!  At these price points and features, this is going to sting the competition if these detectors perform.

Hmm not so sure ,disappointing launch ,only the head phones are wireless ,still has the unbiblical coil cable chord ,all the audio heard was out of the machine speaker, the blue tooth connection even with APTX with the machines maximum recovery speed will be a joy to listen to !! ,, much more to do on these machines' reckon  ,brilliant concept.

How can you launch a new product which is not for sale ,call me old fashioned, and the ,,these buttons do stuff bit on video ,, killed it for me,,very amateurish ,

Another big factor is the weight. I have been frequenting a lot of UK forums lately. In the UK basically target id does not matter much. Valuable items can fall anywhere on the discrimination scale, often in the range U.S. hunters would call trash. All you need is the ability to hit non-ferrous items well, and the DEUS does that. The real kicker though is the weight. Post after post can be found by people who ditch heavier detectors for the DEUS because of the weight. A lot of detectorists are older and many not in the best shape. Weight really does matter, and at 2 lbs the DEUS is what a lot of these people need regardless of anything else.

your spot on regarding the weight .its major factor when your out there  three or four hours at at a time, Deus wins hands down, for convenience  Ive had my Deus getting on for four years now.,Im at the stage where my ears are the first port of call for decisions on whether to dig or not ...Full tones gives you a good enough indication as to what the target may be,, most times.
