The best way to find someone to help you is look at that listing for the nearby meteorite and contact someone on there and they will help you.  They have been there and done that as they

If you look at your meteorite and get it classified and it is the same classification as the named meteorite then you may have a piece of it. 

If the meteorite I have found is unnamed,so is this a good news or bad news for me?

The kaprada village where the first main mass was found is 20km away from the place I live l, however several people from our district reported a minor meteor shower before the hitting of meteorite. Is there possibility that a piece of kaprada meteorite fragment fell in my backyard?

After checking the website which you have recommended and some Google search,finally I think I might have found the official name of my meteorite. A sample of 1.3 kg of main mass of the meteorite has been collected 20km away from the place I live in same district.

Btw one question. Will I find some more fragments of meteorites from where it was found? I will try to search more and more from that area.

It would look even more beautiful if it was fully oriented. Nevertheless peice of cosmic energy in my hand!

Thanks for your reply! This is the first time In my life when I am holding a meteorite.  Many times I saw them as shooting stars during night time and always wanted to have one or hold in my hand since childhood. I never imagined to hold a shooting star in my hand even in my wildest dreams! Today the dream is true and fulfilled.

Hellow guys! A good news!  Iron-nickle flakes are clearly visible on its surface.  I  am delighted with that! I am absolutely happy and it had made my day. I think it adds enough weight for a meteorite!

An update the university contacted me again and they told to grind a flat surface.  If shiny iron flakes will be visible then it must be a chunk of a chondrite because native iron does not exist in terrestrial rocks, iam so exited to see the interior, fingers crossed 🤞 and hope for some shiny metal flakes!

Hellow everyone! Iam new to this forum and what I have looks like a meteorite. It has a dark brown fusion crust, contraction cracks,strongly magnetic and heavy for its size. I actually contacted two universities and i was told that this rock might  be a chondrite. So I have high Hope of it being a meteorite.
